I have been in the real estate business over 30 years, handling sales and leases for residential and commercial properties in both California and Arizona.  I obtained my real estate license while still at college at USC studying architecture and civil engineering.  I have a BS in Accounting and Masters Degree in Business Administration (MBA) from UCLA.  I am a certified Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES), and a Certified Distressed Property Expert (CRPD) and I am well versed in the financial side of real estate, including 1031 exchanges, and investment property analysis for residential and commercial properties.

The Los Angeles and Ventura counties are my field of expertise.  I specialize in the areas of Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, Simi Valley, Moorpark, and Camarillo.  A native Californian, I was born and raised in Tarzana and spent my Boy Scout years (Eagle Scout) camping all over Southern California.  After graduating from college, during the Vietnam era, I served as an Army officer and Auditor for the Combat Developments Command.  As a result of my financial background, I was recruited by the Pacific Stock Exchange where I was Treasurer and Senior Vice President in charge of Depository and Clearing Operations.  I can be credited for coordinating the construction of the Options Trading Floor, consolidating the Vault Operations in Los Angeles, and optimizing cash flow for its $50 billion vault operation.

I retired from the Exchange in the mid 80’s at a time when Bullhead City and Casa Grande, Arizona were booming.  I launched into land sales to established home builders.  Additionally, I developed and built industrial buildings in the Mesa and Tempe, Arizona.  I am licensed as a salesperson in Arizona.

I have learned that the key to success is doing something you enjoy and doing it right, with INTEGRITY, HONESTY, and COMMITMENT.  “Your word is your bond” is not just a catchy phrase, but a way of life.  When I joined NextHome Element Realty, I found that broker John Jackson and I share this philosophy.

My family includes my wife, Carmel, and my daughter, Lauren.  My attorney wife handles real estate loan mitigation, bankruptcy, and creditor’s rights, and has successfully handled short sales and loan modifications for many of my clients.   My daughter, Lauren, is currently enrolled at Oaks Christian and will be off to college in a little over one year.
